LAUDERDALE LAKES, Fla. — Eight-year-old Luke Tillman, who lives in Broward County, has been promoting his new book: “Finding God Every Day.”
Luke’s father, Rev. Ezra Tillman, who was born in Michigan, is the senior pastor at First Baptist Church Piney Grove, in Lauderdale Lakes.
“When I was three, I had a dream that God called me to preach,” Luke said.
Luke isn’t waiting to make his dreams come true.
“Every single time I preach, I shake,” Luke said. “My mom said when I shake, that means the holy spirit is in me.”
Luke’s new 90-day devotional book is also inspired by family videos that have gone viral over the years.
In late 2022, after his father performed baptisms, his mother, Catrina Tillman, recorded Luke at five, baptizing his Paw Patrol toy.
“That inspired me to be like, ‘Hey! I want to start baptize somebody,” Luke said.
Luke is excited about helping others with his book, which will be released on Sept. 8.
“The book is about how kids like me can find God through our daily life experiences,” he said. “You can find God through different things in this book. Like brushing your teeth, cleaning your room.”
Luke has been making the rounds around the country and on national TV for years. Jennifer Hudson has had him on her show several times.
“It’s not being lucky, it’s being blessed,” Luke said.
His goal with the book is to get more pre-orders and go on the New York Times bestseller list.
“I want to make my Father, not my biological father, my Father that’s in heaven, pleased, so I can make this big goal,” Luke said.
