MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. — A man was shot and killed early Saturday morning, according to the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office.

According to authorities, deputies responded around 2:45 a.m. to a ShotSpotter alert near Southwest 217th Street and Southwest 120th Avenue.

Investigators say deputies arrived and found a man suffering from apparent gunshot wounds.

Miami-Dade Fire Rescue transported him to Jackson Memorial Hospital South in critical condition, where he later died.

Detectives with the homicide bureau have taken over the investigation.
