2 people injured after vehicle hits tree, catches fire

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. — First responders rushed to the scene of a vehicle crash and fire in Broward County.

It happened early Sunday evening in Fort Lauderdale, in the area of Broward Boulevard and Northwest 15th Avenue.

According to Fort Lauderdale Fire Rescue, a vehicle slammed into a tree, causing the car to catch fire.

Two adults, a man and a woman, were rushed to Broward Health Medical Center in critical condition as trauma alerts, officials said.

Authorities initially shut down Broward Boulevard in both directions between Northwest 12th Avenue and 15th Avenue following the crash.
