Police: Man confesses to fatally shooting girlfriend’s brothers in Miami

Antwan Carter confessed to fatally shooting Gianni Pierre and Jaheim Pierre on Saturday in Miami, records show.

MIAMI — A 31-year-old man who confessed to fatally shooting his girlfriend’s two brothers in Miami remained behind bars on Monday afternoon without bond.

Miami Fire Rescue personnel declared Jaheim Pierre, 23, dead at an apartment on Saturday afternoon, at 5329 NW 17 Ave., records show.

After the shooting, Antwan Carter turned to a police officer and said, “I am the one; I have the firearm,” according to a police report.

Carter surrendered a 9mm, Glock 43, firearm from his right pocket, according to the police report.

A woman with her feet and clothing ”covered in blood” approached a police officer and said the shooter was her boyfriend of four years, and the two shot were her brothers, according to a police report.

The woman said her brothers had been concerned about her being the victim of domestic violence, showed up at her apartment, and there was an argument and a fight, according to police.

Carter said he left the apartment, returned, and shot both brothers, according to police. Fire rescue personnel found Gianni Pierre, 28, bleeding next to a couch, and Jaheim Pierre, 23, bleeding in the closet

Fire rescue personnel rushed Gianni Pierre, 28, to Jackson Memorial Hospital’s Ryder Trauma Center, where a doctor pronounced him dead.

Carter faced two counts of first-degree murder.
