MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. — A 60-year-old man was arrested over the weekend after he threw household items off of his high-rise balcony, including a dining room table and a TV, Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office deputies said.
According to an arrest report, the incident was reported shortly before 6 p.m. Saturday at the Brownsville Transit Village, located at 5185 NW 29th Ave.
Deputies said they responded to the apartment building after receiving a complaint that the falling items nearly struck pedestrians and parked vehicles.
When deputies arrived, they found multiple household items on the ground, as well as a damaged AT&T antenna affixed to the exterior of the building.
According to the report, deputies went to Rafael Jorge Gonzalez-Sintes’ apartment unit and he spontaneously stated that he threw an object off his balcony.
The arresting deputy noted in the arrest report that a fellow deputy previously responded to a similar incident involving Gonzalez-Sintes about two weeks prior after he allegedly made threats to throw objects off the balcony. After that incident, he was taken into custody under Florida’s Baker Act.
Authorities confirmed Gonzalez-Sintes was arrested in this latest incident on charges of shooting or throwing a deadly missile, culpable negligence, criminal mischief and disorderly conduct.
