MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. — Miami Gardens police are investigating an attempted robbery and shooting that left a 17-year-old boy injured on Sunday.
According to police, it happened at approximately 6:20 p.m. Sunday in the area of Northwest 187th Street and 44th Avenue.
Police said the victim was meeting with a teen to sell a watch, but the teen pulled out a gun and tried to take the item instead.
According to police, the victim then pushed the suspect and fired one shot, striking the teen in the hand.
Miami-Dade Fire Rescue personnel responded to the scene and airlifted the suspect to HCA Florida Aventura Hospital in stable condition.
Police said it’s unclear who owns the gun that was fired.
The suspect’s identity has not yet been released, however police confirmed Monday that he will transferred to jail once he is released from the hospital.
