MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. — A string of robberies connected to Facebook Marketplace postings have led to several arrests in Miami-Dade County.
Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office deputies have taken Terrell Barry, 20; Kareem Watkins, 18; Adrion Hall, 22; Nikell Etienne, 23; and James Royal, 32 into custody.
They say the suspects are linked to 11 cases connected to a string of Facebook Marketplace robberies that occurred between October 2025 and May 2026, all following the same MO.
Local 10 News spoke to one of Barry’s alleged victims.
She said she traveled with her father to 15221 NE Sixth Avenue after a woman on the website had expressed interest in an iPhone 17 Pro Max.
After arriving, she said she received a message from the suspect stating, “I have my boyfriend coming down.”
According to deputies, there are many victims out there who had MacBooks and iPhones stolen just like that.
MDSO advises people to make these type of exchanges at a safe place like a police station, and this story shows just how dangerous these interactions could be.
All the suspects are facing felony charges for their roles in the crimes.
Barry is facing a charge of armed robbery with a firearm or deadly weapon, Watkins was charged with strongarm robbery, Hall was charged with third degree grand theft, Etienne is facing charges of strongarm robbery, burglary with assault or battery and attempted strongarm robbery and Royal was charged with strongarm robbery, burglary of an occupied conveyance, knowingly driving with a suspended license and six counts of possession of a controlled substance.
