Police have since confirmed the arrest of Raydean Johnson, 49, in the case, who they listed as homeless.

Sky 10 was above the scene as officers surrounded the suspect near a CVS across from the Kaseya Center.

Authorities said Johnson refused to surrender, leading to a standoff that shut down part of Biscayne Boulevard for nearly two hours.

Video obtained by Local 10 shows officers eventually using a Taser to take Johnson into custody before handcuffing him.

Police said Johnson was being evaluated and was likely to be Baker Acted.

The victim, meanwhile, was transported to Jackson Memorial Hospital’s Ryder Trauma Center in stable condition, authorities confirmed. Police also said she was not robbed by Johnson.

A male witness described the scene as shocking.

“Her face was just coated in blood like it was almost like makeup,” he said. “It looked like studio makeup. She was saying, it was random. He just came from behind me. I didn’t even look at the guy.”

Biscayne Boulevard, between Eighth and Ninth Street were temporarily shut down in both directions following the attack, but all lanes have since reopened.

Johnson is facing felony charges of attempted murder, aggravated battery with great bodily harm, criminal mischief and resisting an officer with violence to his person.

As of Tuesday night, he remained behind bars at Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center with bond listed as “to be set.”
