CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. — An arrest has been made after an 18-year-old man was fatally shot last week in a Coral Springs neighborhood, Local 10 learned Wednesday.
According to an arrest report, T’vano Angelo Ashford Rolle, 22, of Coral Springs, was arrested last Thursday, but as of Wednesday, he is only facing a charge of tampering with or fabricating physical evidence.
Police said the victim, Khameran Jackson, of Dania Beach, was shot in the torso early in the morning last Thursday inside a community near Royal Palm Boulevard and Riverside Drive.
According to the arrest report, two witnesses told police that they heard multiple gunshots ringing out and then saw a Black male carrying a backpack near the pool area of an apartment complex at 2501 Riverside Drive immediately after the shooting.
The witnesses told police that they then saw the male gathering items from the pool area before entering a building.
Sky 10 was above the scene as an assault rifle was submerged in the pool.

Police confirmed that officers recovered the rifle, along with multiple shell casings from the pool deck area.
According to the report, surveillance video shows the same male from the pool area exiting an elevator on the fourth floor of the apartment building.
Police later identified that male as Rolle, who lives at the apartment complex.
His mother was contacted by police after the shooting and initially denied being home, but officers soon discovered that she was inside her apartment unit and they instructed her to tell her son to exit the apartment, the report stated.
According to the report, Rolle eventually exited the apartment and was taken into custody.
Police said he initially denied having any knowledge of the shooting or being in the pool area of his apartment complex, but later admitted that he knew the victim for about two years.
He said last Wednesday, May 13, the victim had contacted him and requested to meet up, authorities said.
According to the report, Rolle claimed that he, Jackson and an unidentified Black male traveled together to and from a music studio before returning to his apartment.
He said the three hung out in the pool area where the unidentified male asked to take photos while wearing Rolle’s gold Cuban-link chain.
Police said Rolle claimed that the man then pulled out guns and pointed them at him, at which time he pulled out his own gun, exchanging gunfire with the man.
According to the report, Rolle said he then fled to his apartment and concealed his gun in his home.
It’s unclear whether detectives have confirmed that a third person was involved in the shooting or which gun was used to kill the victim.
Anyone with further information about the shooting is asked to call the Coral Springs Police Department or Broward Crime Stoppers at 954-493-8477.
