MIAMI BEACH, Fla. — A suspect was shot early Wednesday morning after some kind of incident involving an off-duty police officer near Smith & Wollensky in South Pointe, authorities confirmed to Local 10 News.
According to Miami Beach police, the incident occurred at about 1:10 a.m.
Police said the suspect was shot and transported to Jackson Memorial Hospital’s Ryder Trauma Center in critical condition.
The officer was not injured.
Police did not immediately confirm who shot the suspect.
The Florida Department of Law Enforcement is investigating.
