HOLLYWOOD, Fla. — The Hollywood Police Department is investigating after a body washed ashore on Hollywood Beach on Wednesday evening.

Police said officers responded around 8 p.m. to a 911 call reporting a body near New Mexico Street.

The deceased was described as a white woman. Authorities have not yet identified the victim.

The Hollywood Police Department’s Homicide Unit is leading the investigation and working to determine the woman’s identity.
