The Florida Department of Law Enforcement issued a Missing Child Alert early Thursday for Rashaud Dixon, but canceled the alert hours later after confirming Dixon was found safe.

According to Homestead police, prior to being found, Dixon was last seen at about 3 p.m. Wednesday in the 2600 block of Southeast 12th Road.

Police said Dixon contacted his mother at 9 p.m. and made “concerning statements” to her which promoted the endangered missing juvenile alert.

According to authorities, Dixon does not suffer from any medical conditions.
