Police investigate after person shot in Coconut Grove

MIAMI — A person was shot early Saturday morning in Coconut Grove after Miami police responded to reports of a “large crowd,” authorities confirmed.

Miami police said officers were called to the 3800 block of Oak Avenue at about 1:55 a.m.

Police said when officers arrived, they reported hearing gunshots in the area and later found a person who had been shot.

They said Miami Fire Rescue personnel transported the victim to Jackson Memorial Hospital’s emergency room.

The age, gender, identity, or condition of the victim was not immediately released.
