A federal criminal complaint states that customs officers and Homeland Security Investigations agents found illicit videos on cellphones belonging to Krisztian Kovacs, 45, of Delray Beach, after he arrived Saturday on a JetBlue flight from Punta Cana, Dominican Republic.

Authorities said after referring Kovacs for secondary inspection, they first found that he had a Ziploc bag with 236 pills labeled “Mambo 36″ that they said were the erectile dysfunction medication tadalafil ― the generic name of the brand-name drug Cialis.

A search of two cellphones revealed child sexual abuse material, according to the complaint, including “of photos of naked, underage girls” as well as videos of Kovacs “engaging in sexual activities with minor females.”

Agents said travel records showed that Kovacs made “frequent trips to Colombia and the Dominican Republic during 2025.”

Videos and chat messages found on both devices showed Kovacs engaging in child sex tourism in Colombia, according to the complaint, including one message in which Kovacs “bragged about having sex with a 16-year-old girl.”

“A few days ago I was having sex with a young 16-year-old girl,” agents said he told a woman named “Andrea” on WhatsApp. “I recorded a little bit.”

According to the complaint, a screenshot showed Kovacs messaging someone, “We’ll see each other soon” and asking, “Are you turning 17 this year?”

Agents said they believe Kovacs met up with the person and said they found screenshots of a nude teenage girl afterwards. They said they also found payments to who they believed to be the girl.

Authorities said in a third WhatsApp chat from Dec. 18, 2025, Kovacs tells a woman he just got back from Colombia. According to the complaint, when she asked him whether “he had sex with ‘little locals’,” he responded “with young people of (sic) 16, 17 and 18″ and said “I filmed.”

Authorities said Kovacs declined to speak with agents. He now faces federal charges related to the transportation and possession of child sexual abuse material.

Records show he was scheduled to make an initial appearance in Fort Lauderdale federal court on Monday morning. He was being held in a Broward Sheriff’s Office jail facility on behalf of the U.S. Marshals Service.

Child sex tourism a problem in Colombia

Local 10 News has previously reported on the problem of child sex tourism in Colombia.

The 2024 arrest and later conviction of a Miami pharmacist shed a spotlight on the ongoing victimization. Authorities said Stefan Andres Correa flew to the South American country on numerous occasions to sexually abuse children.

The mayor of Medellin, Colombia, had responded to the arrest, which made headlines in the country.

“These abuses against our children have been occurring with great intensity for years. We are not going to rest in this fight that has only just begun,” he said at the time.

Experts told Local 10 News the U.S. is working with Colombian authorities to crack down on the practice.
