FLORIDA CITY, Fla. — Authorities responded to a fatal shooting that they say occurred in Florida City early Wednesday morning.

It happened near the 1400 block of Northwest First Court.

A Local 10 News crew was at the scene of the shooting, where Florida City police officers and deputies with the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office were investigating the area.

A neighbor told Local 10’s Hannah Yechivi that the fatal shooting involved a child, though the victim’s age and gender weren’t immediately known.

No other details were immediately released.
