FLORIDA CITY, Fla. — A 17-year-old boy was injured in a shooting in Florida City early Friday evening, police said.

Sgt. David Hunsberger, a spokesperson for the Florida City Police Department, said the teen was shot in the leg in the 1700 block of Northwest Third Terrace.

Hunsberger said medics airlifted the boy to Jackson South Medical Center and described his condition as “stable.”

He said detectives “are on scene and are actively working on this incident.”

Police did not release any details about possible suspects.
