MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. — A man has died after being struck by a car Thursday night in Miami-Dade County, authorities said.
At about 8:45 p.m., the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office responded to reports of a traffic crash involving a pedestrian in the area of 89th Place and West Flagler Street.
Miami-Dade Fire Rescue medics transported the victim to HCA Florida Kendall Hospital in critical condition. He was later pronounced dead.
The driver, also a man, stayed at the scene following the crash, authorities confirmed.
The MDSO Traffic Homicide Unit is investigating the accident. Officials said there is no further information at this time.
Flagler Street, between Fontainebleau Boulevard and 92nd Avenue, was closed during the investigation, but all lanes have since reopened.
