MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. — A man was killed after being struck in a crash Thursday night in Miami-Dade County, authorities said.
At about 8:45 p.m., the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office responded to reports of a traffic crash involving a pedestrian in the area of 89th Place and West Flagler Street.
The Miami-Dade Fire Rescue transported a man to HCA Florida Kendall Hospital in critical condition. He was later pronounced dead.
The driver, also a man, stayed at the scene following the crash.
The MDSO Traffic Homicide Unit is investigating the incident. Officials said there is no further information at this time.
Authorities also announced that Flagler Street between Fontainebleau Boulevard and 92nd Avenue is closed and urged drivers to avoid the area and use alternate routes.
