July 5: Hazy, hot sunshine

Yesterday’s fireworks have left a lot of smoke around with an *Air Quality Alert* in effect for Broward County through late morning. The winds will pick up and the smoke will dissipate leaving us with hazy, hot sunshine heading into midday and early afternoon.

The seabreeze will then kick in and generate scattered showers and t’storms most likely between 1-5 p.m.

Although the coverage appears to be less than yesterday any one of these could dump heavy rain and dangerous lightning so keep an eye out this afternoon. Clearing settles in by this evening and it looks quiet again overnight.

Saharan dust could arrive by midweek which would mean very hot weather with lower storm chances. There are no advisories for boaters and beachgoers and all is currently quiet in the tropics.
