MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. — A 49-year-old man is facing an attempted murder charge after stabbing another man who wouldn’t give him money, according to the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies said it happened Thursday night at the home of suspect Michael Jason Knight in the unincorporated Princeton area of southwest Miami-Dade.
According to MDSO, deputies responded to the home, in the 26300 block of Southwest 135th Avenue, at around 10:35 p.m. after receiving a report of a man who “was bleeding and appeared dead.”
An arrest report states that deputies arrived to find the victim “bleeding profusely.”
Deputies took him to Jackson South Medical Center where he was treated, according to MDSO.
He told deputies that Knight had asked him for money, and when he said “no,” Knight stabbed him in the left arm. Deputies said another person in the home took the knife from Knight and called 911.
According to the arrest report, Knight told a deputy at the scene, regarding himself and the victim, “We were just kissing.”
Authorities said after being taken to an MDSO station, Knight “began urinating on the table and floor” and “became uncooperative.”
As of Monday morning, the Georgia-born Knight remained held without bond in the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center, records show.
