FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. — Fort Lauderdale police are requesting the public’s help in identifying a man who they said is a possible suspect in an aggravated battery case from the Fourth of July.
Police released photos of the man they are looking for on Friday.
According to police, the victim was shot in the thigh at about 11:30 p.m. on July 4 while standing on a sidewalk in the area of Seabreeze and Las Olas Boulevards.
Police said the victim had no idea where the bullet came from, nor did it appear that he was the intended target.
The victim was transported to Broward Health Medical Center to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
Detectives are asking for anyone with information about the shooting to call Detective Tiffany Washington of the Violent Crimes Unit at 954-828-6617. Anonymous tips can be made by calling Broward Crime Stoppers at 954-493-TIPS (8477). Crime Stoppers is offering a reward of up to $5,000 for information that leads to an arrest.
