DEERFIELD BEACH, Fla. — Broward Sheriff’s Office deputies investigated a shooting Sunday evening at a condominium complex.

According to BSO, deputies responded to the 5000 block of East Lakes Drive, within the Lakes development, just before 7:15 p.m. and found a man suffering from gunshot wounds.

Deputies “immediately rendered aid” and medics took the man to a local hospital for treatment, BSO spokesperson Miranda Grossman said.

Grossman said deputies had one person detained as of around 8:15 p.m.

“Detectives with BSO’s Crime Scene and Violent Crimes Unit were notified and are actively investigating the circumstances surrounding this shooting,” Grossman said.
