POMPANO BEACH, Fla. — Stunning surveillance video captured what happened after a Tesla slammed into the front of Orene Terry’s Pompano Beach home.
“I heard this loud noise and it sounded like a bomb went off,” Terry said. “My husband told me, ‘Somebody just hit the house.’”
Three men were inside the car. Surveillance video shows the airbags deployed as they tried to get out. One of them grabbed a bag before Terry said they all fled the scene.
“I’m really surprised that they even walked away from it because the impact was so severe, the house shook,” Terry said. “My attic door fell down.”
It happened around 3:30 a.m. The Tesla took out the mailbox before hitting a Range Rover parked in the driveway and then eventually the home.
“Now I’ve got figure out who? Why? It’s aggravating,” Terry said.
Terry said she is grateful she and her husband are OK, but now she is hopeful someone can help catch the people who did this.
“The cars actually slowed him down because if not, if there was nothing here, he would have run into my bedroom,” Terry said.
