FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. — A large police presence was observed on Sunday morning in a Broward County residential neighborhood.

SWAT officers surrounded a home in Fort Lauderdale off Northeast 16th Avenue and Third Court on Sunday morning.

According to authorities, officers responded to a domestic situation inside the home.

Police said a woman and two small children were safely removed from the home, and that the suspect, who they said was the father of the children, was eventually taken into custody.

Authorities have not provided any information on what led up to the situation.

The investigation remains active and ongoing.
