MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. — A man was arrested Saturday after Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office deputies said he was caught recklessly driving a yellow school bus in southwest Miami-Dade without a commercial driver’s license.

According to an arrest report obtained Monday by Local 10 News, deputies responded around 3:14 p.m. Saturday to the area of Southwest 104th Avenue and Southwest 172nd Street after receiving reports of a man driving a school bus recklessly.

Deputies later located the bus near Hibiscus Street and Homestead Avenue and identified the driver as 23-year-old Erick Anthony Moore.

According to the report, Moore was unable to provide deputies with information about the owner of the school bus.

A records check revealed Moore was driving with a suspended driver’s license, had never been issued a commercial driver’s license, and the school bus was not registered, investigators said.

Deputies also discovered Moore had a possible active fugitive warrant. The Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office Warrants Bureau later confirmed the warrant was active, according to the arrest report.

Moore was taken into custody without incident.

He was issued traffic citations and arrested on charges of driving with a suspended license, operating a commercial vehicle without a commercial driver’s license and operating an unregistered vehicle.

Moore was transported to the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center.

Online jail records show that while Moore was granted an $800 bond in the case, he remains at TGK without bond due to the out-of-county warrant.
