OAKLAND PARK, Fla. — A Broward business owner is facing a felony littering charge for having one of his workers dump more than three dozen 50-gallon drums of chemicals down a storm drain on Wednesday, deputies said.
According to the Broward Sheriff’s Office, the dirty deed happened at International Parts Service, located at 3770 NE Third Ave. in Oakland Park.
A BSO arrest report states that an Oakland Park Fire Rescue captain saw the employee dumping the car care chemicals and got deputies involved, who later determined that Gonzalo Javier Paul put the employee up to it.
State business records show that Paul, 42, of Pompano Beach, is International Parts Service’s registered agent.
Deputies said they counted 38 drums in total near the rear of the business.
Paul was taken to the BSO Main Jail in Fort Lauderdale, where he was being held on a $2,500 bond as of Thursday afternoon.
