According to an arrest report from the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office, the incident happened at about 12:15 p.m. Monday at the Walmart located at 14325 SW 268th St.

Deputies said the victim claimed that he was taking a bathroom break when he noticed someone reaching over the stall with an iPhone that had an orange cover on it, taking pictures or video of him.

The victim said he exited the stall and confronted the suspect, Oscar Chamizo Martin, 28, who was the only person in the restroom area with him, authorities said.

Deputies said surveillance video shows the victim exiting the bathroom, visibly upset, as he called for his manager.

According to the report, Martin left the Walmart, but a deputy contacted his employer and he returned to the store, denying that he took any pictures or video of the victim.

Deputies said Martin claimed it was someone else who did it, however he was in possession of an iPhone with an orange cover as described by the victim.

After speaking with the deputy, Martin was arrested and transported to the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center.

As of Tuesday morning, the Cuban national remained at TGK on a $2,500 bond for the video voyeurism charge and on an immigration hold.
