MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. — Newly released video shows the moment an accused kidnapper was involved in a violent crash following a high-speed chase.

It happened on May 13 near Northwest 86th Terrace and Northwest 18th Avenue in Miami-Dade County.

Investigators arrested 29-year-old Ronald Kelly after Miami-Dade Sheriff’s deputies and Florida Highway Patrol troopers chased him down and crashed his red Dodge pickup truck by performing a PIT maneuver, causing the truck to overturn.

Authorities quickly took Kelly into custody and safely recovered the victim, who was being held in the bed of the truck.

Kelly is facing charges of kidnapping, aggravated fleeing and eluding causing injury or death, false imprisonment and burglary of an unoccupied structure and third-degree theft from a construction site and petit theft stemming from this case, and he’s also facing charges in another investigation regarding an alleged domestic dispute.
