BROWARD COUNTY, Fla. — To help the victims of the recent 7.4-magnitude earthquake in Colombia, Broward County announced that 11 drop-off locations were set to open on Monday.
Colombian officials reported on Friday that there were at least 287 dead, 3,975 injured, 378 people who had vanished, 354 had been rescued from the rubble, and 135,179 were affected.

In Broward, the new aid drop-off locations, which will have collection bins, are in Miramar, Coconut Creek, Coral Springs, Pembroke Pines, Plantation, Lauderhill, Cooper City, Sunrise, and Hollywood.
The county is asking the public for donations of non-perishable food, shovels, face masks with respirators, hygiene products, pet food, pet crates, sleeping bags, air mattresses, first-aid kits, backpacks, tarps, flashlights, and batteries.
The county will not be accepting donations of clothes or linens. Here is the list of locations and hours of operation:
MIRAMAR
- Miramar Branch Library and Education Center, at 2050 Civic Center Place, opens from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. from Monday to Wednesday and from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. from Thursday to Saturday.
COCONUT CREEK
- North Regional/Broward College Library, at 1100 Coconut Creek Boulevard, opens from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. from Monday to Wednesday and from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. from Thursday to Sunday.
- Tradewinds Park & Stables, at 3600 West Sample Road, opens from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily.
CORAL SPRINGS
- Northwest Regional Library, at 3151 North University Drive, opens from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. from Monday to Wednesday and from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. from Thursday to Sunday.
PEMBROKE PINES
- South Regional/Broward County Library at 7300 Pines Boulevard, opens from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. from Monday to Wednesday and from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. from Thursday to Sunday.
- Southwest Regional Library, at 16835 Sheridan St., opens from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. from Monday to Wednesday and from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. from Thursday to Sunday.
PLANTATION
- West Regional Library at 8601 West Broward Boulevard, from Monday to Wednesday and from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. from Thursday to Sunday.
COOPER CITY
- Brian Piccolo Park, at 9501 Sheridan St., opens from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily.
LAUDERHILL
- Central Broward Park & Broward County Stadium at 3700 NW 11 Place, opens from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily.
SUNRISE
- Markham Park at 16001 West State Road 84, opens from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily.
HOLLYWOOD
- T.Y. Park, at 3300 North Park Road, opens from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily.
