MIAMI — Videos of ICE agents conducting operations across Miami-Dade and Broward counties over the last 24 hours were sent to Local 10 News.
The images give us a glimpse of encounters between ICE agents, immigrants and residents.
People recorded ICE agents as they conducted operations in Homestead, Fort Lauderdale and West Park.
Border Patrol agents were seen outside Harris Field Park in southwest Miami-Dade.
One mother was disturbed, telling us she was dropping off her child at Head Start, an early childhood education and family support facility, and was unsure who the agents were looking for.
Outside a manufacturing company in Broward, a member of the staff questioned an agent who was on the premises.
The agent responded that there was an individual inside who was an illegal resident of the United States and was facing deportation.
“Well, we don’t know anything about that. Just serve a warrant at the front desk,” the staff member said.
A Local 10 News viewer inside the business was concerned the agents were after his co-worker.
He showed what he claimed was a valid work permit and driver’s license.
He added that he was in the process of applying for asylum.
In another encounter, neighbors said a Haitian man was riding his bike on his way to work when federal agents tried to question him.
Residents also tried questioning the agents.
“Put this on the Ring camera. Put this on TikTok. Put this on Facebook,” one resident said. “You didn’t even get his ID Did you run his ID?”
The man was eventually taken into custody. His belongings were left behind.
Local 10 News is still working to learn more specifics in these cases.
In the meantime, the Department of Homeland Security has maintained that agents have been doing their job, enforcing immigration laws and ultimately fulfilling President Donald Trump’s campaign promises on immigration.
