MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. — A 47-year-old man faced charges on Friday after Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office deputies accused him of trying to kill his ex-girlfriend early Thursday morning at a mobile home park.
Christaan Johnson, a convicted felon, was “holding a black handgun and a knife” when he showed up outside of his ex-girlfriend’s home, where his two children live, according to MDSO deputies.
It was 4:50 a.m. on Saturday, and Johnson, also known as Chris and Christian, confronted her “regarding issues involving his new relationship,” according to a MDSO deputy’s arrest report.
Johnson stabbed his ex-girlfriend in the back — which punctured her lung — and stabbed her buttocks and legs, according to deputies.
Johnson also struck his ex-girlfriend’s friend in the face with a gun after she came to her defense, according to the deputy’s report.
Court records show Johnson has convictions that include deriving support from prostitution and possession of a weapon by a felon.
Johnson also has a long arrest record in Miami-Dade, including aggravated battery with a deadly weapon in 2024, cocaine possession in 2004, and aggravated battery of a pregnant woman in 2000.
Deputies detained Johnson at about 1:10 p.m. on Thursday at the Northwest 20 Avenue and 76 Street in the Gladeview neighborhood, according to deputies.
Deputies arrested Johnson shortly before 1:30 p.m. on Thursday at the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office headquarters in Doral, according to the arrest report.
Corrections booked Johnson at 3:40 p.m. on Thursday at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center near Doral, according to inmate records.
Johnson faced five charges in two new domestic violence cases, according to court records. A bond court judge ordered his pre-trial detention.
In one case, Johnson faced charges of attempted murder, which had no bond, and aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, which had a $7,500 bond.
In the second case, Johnson faced charges of armed burglary with assault or battery, armed aggravated battery with great bodily harm, and strong-arm robbery. The first two charges had no bond. His bond on the third charge was $7,500.
Miami-Dade County Circuit Judge Laura Stuzin is set to preside over the cases.
