Miramar crash leaves infant seriously injured, mother hurt, cops say

MIRAMAR, Fla. — Three people, including a 4-month-old baby, were involved in a single-vehicle crash in Miramar, police said.

The crash happened in the 2300 block of Southwest 173rd Avenue at about 12:30 p.m., according to the Miramar Police Department.

Police said a mother and her two children were involved in the crash. They said the 4-month-old sustained serious injuries and was airlifted to Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital.

The mother was transported to Memorial Regional Hospital in Hollywood with minor injuries, according to investigators. The second child was not injured.

Authorities said MPD’s Traffic Homicide Investigations Unit is investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash.

No other details about the crash or the individuals involved were immediately released.
