Man implies he has gun before demanding money from bank employee in Fort Lauderdale, FBI says

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. — A man wearing red sunglasses and a black beanie robbed a bank in Fort Lauderdale last week, the FBI announced Monday.

According to FBI Special Agent Willie Creech, the robbery occurred at about 4:20 p.m. Thursday at a Truist bank branch, located at 501 E. Las Olas Blvd.

Creech said the robber implied that he had a gun on him before demanding money from a bank employee.

No injuries were reported.

Creech declined to confirm the amount of money taken during the robbery.
