On Monday, police identified Johntavis Leroy Stevenson, 25, as the suspect who opened fire just before 2:20 a.m. Sunday along the 2700 block of Arthur Street in Hollywood.

According to the Hollywood Police Department, officers responded to the scene after receiving reports of a shooting and arrived to find two victims.

Hollywood Fire Rescue crews rushed both victims to Memorial Regional Hospital, where one was pronounced dead about an hour later, authorities said.

The second victim remains hospitalized while being treated for his injuries, according to police.

According to investigators, there was a gathering at the home where the shooting occurred, and detectives ultimately determined that Stevenson was responsible for the shooting and took him into custody.

Stevenson has since been charged with first degree felony murder with a firearm, attempted felony murder with a firearm and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. As of Monday afternoon, he was being held at the Broward Main Jail without bond.
