Man accused of recording videos of himself raping unconscious woman in Miami-Dade

Deputies arrested Samuel De Leon-Chan on Monday night in Homestead and corrections booked him on Tuesday morning.

HOMESTEAD, Fla. — A woman accused a 20-year-old man of recording videos while raping her after she hosted a party at her home in Miami-Dade County, records show.

As the host, the woman said she allowed Samuel De Leon-Chan to sleep on a couch in the living room on the first floor of her home after the party ended, according to a Miami-Dade arrest warrant.

“She was heavily intoxicated when she went to sleep,” a Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office deputy wrote, according to a statement in support of the Aug. 10 warrant.

The woman reported that when she went to review the photos of her party, she found the videos and photos of the sexual battery on June 21 in her iPhone 16 Pro, according to the warrant.

The woman reported that it was likely De Leon-Chan “mistakenly used her cellular phone because they both owned identical” black iPhones, according to the warrant.

The victim reported De Leon-Chan “had told one of her friends he intended to travel to Mexico to avoid prosecution,” a deputy wrote, according to the warrant.

MDSO deputies arrested De Leon-Chan, who was born in Miami-Dade, at his home at 11:30 p.m. on Monday in Homestead, according to the arrest report.

Miami-Dade corrections booked De-Leon Chan at 2:15 a.m. on Tuesday at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center, according to inmate records.

De-Leon Chan faced charges of committing sexual battery on a victim who is physically helpless, a first-degree felony; and video or digital voyeurism by a person who is 19 years of age or older, a third-degree felony.
