DANIA BEACH, Fla. — A power outage led to some patients being moved around at a Broward County assisted living facility.
It happened around 9:45 a.m. Wednesday at The Residence at Dania Beach, located at 150 Stirling Road.
According to Broward Sheriff Fire Rescue, Florida Power & Light responded to the facility following reports of a power outage.
Officials said power was restored around noon.
No residents were evacuated, but those who were in the impacted area of the facility were moved to a different location where the power was working, according to BSFR officials.
“It’s very, very hot,” said resident Jorge Gonzalez. “And of course, people in this residency, we have people that are on oxygen, and older people that need their air conditioner and their oxygen.”
Officials said there were no reported medical concerns.
“The patients are in an environment that is tenable for them for the short term,” said Broward Sheriff Fire Rescue Battalion Chief Michael Kane.
