FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. — A suspect was arrested Thursday, a week after a Truist bank branch was robbed in Fort Lauderdale, authorities confirmed.
Online jail records show Fiske Evariste Johnson, 57, was taken into custody by U.S. marshals on a bank robbery charge.
According to FBI Special Agent Willie Creech, the robbery occurred at about 4:20 p.m. on Aug. 13 at a Truist bank branch, located at 501 E. Las Olas Blvd.
Creech said the suspect implied that he had a gun on him before demanding money from a bank employee.
No injuries were reported.
Creech declined to confirm the amount of money taken during the robbery.
As of Friday afternoon, Johnson was being held at the Broward County Main Jail without bond.
