HIALEAH, Fla. — Police arrested a 21-year-old Hialeah man on Monday after they said he made a post on Instagram threatening a “mass act of terrorism” at Miami Dade College.
According to the Hialeah Police Department, officers were called out to the MDC campus at 1780 W. 49th St. on Monday morning after someone reported a post that stated, “Everyone at MDC dies today.”
Police said they were able to identify Jose Santos as the “owner of the Instagram handle” and they found him at a home on West 31st Street, near First Avenue.
A statement Santos allegedly made to detectives was redacted from the HPD report, which doesn’t state whether he attends the institution.
Police arrested Santos on a written threats charge. As of Tuesday morning, he was being held in the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center with a bond listed as “to be set.”
