MIAMI — Police officers arrested a 64-year-old woman on Tuesday morning after a detective accused her of sexually abusing a 17-year-old boy in Miami.
The teenage boy and Diana Rodriguez said the abuse happened at her home in Miami’s Little Havana neighborhood, according to a police officer’s arrest report.
The teen “stated that he was riding his bike when [Rodriguez] went up to him and began speaking to him. He stated that she offered him an unknown white pill and persuaded him to follow her,” a police officer wrote, according to the arrest report.
Rodriguez told police officers that she met the teen at Northwest 10th Avenue and West Flagler Street, and the teen reported that it was there that Rodriguez offered to perform oral sex for $10, so he left his bicycle at the Valero gas station at 999 West Flagler Street and followed her, according to the police report.
“He stated that as they were walking, the offender asked him how old he was to which he answered 17 years old. He stated that she ignored him and continued to walk westbound,” a police officer wrote, according to the arrest report.
The teen reported that he and Rodriguez walked from the gas station to La Esquina Del Pan Con Bistec, a Cuban restaurant at Northwest 12th Avenue and West Flagler Street, in Little Havana’s Riverside area.
Rodriguez “stated that she asked the victim how old he was and he replied by stating 17 years old, then shortly after he stated 18 years old,” a police officer wrote, according to the arrest report.
The teen said he got into a car with Rodriguez that a man he didn’t know was driving, they arrived at Rodriguez’s home, and the abuse happened in her living room, according to police.
Miami police officers arrested Rodriguez shortly after 4:30 a.m. on Tuesday at her home in Little Havana’s West Flagler area, according to the arrest report.
Miami-Dade County corrections booked Rodriguez shortly after 8:10 a.m. on Tuesday at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center near Doral, according to inmate records.
Rodriguez, who has an arrest record going back to 1983, faced a felony charge of sexual activity with a minor. She appeared in bond court, and a judge ordered her to stay away from the victim, according to court records. Her bond was $7,500.
Miami-Dade County Circuit Judge Ariel Rodriguez was set to preside over the case.
