MIAMI — A Miami man was arrested Thursday, months after an investigation began into him being in possession of child sexual abuse material, authorities said in an arrest report.
According to the arrest report completed by the Miami Police Department, the investigation began in February after detectives received an online complaint about five images/videos that were considered child sexual abuse material being uploaded to a Google account registered to Eric Cuevas Cordero.
Police said detectives with the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force executed a search warrant at Cordero’s home on Wednesday, at which time they seized multiple electronic devices.
According to the arrest report, a forensic examination of the 21-year-old’s cellphone revealed numerous images and videos of child sexual abuse material involving victims ranging from infants to children as old as 12.
The report stated that Cordero made some kind of admission to detectives, however his exact statement was redacted from the publicly released report.
Cordero was arrested Thursday on 15 counts of possession of images showing the sexual performance of a child.
As of Friday afternoon, he remained held at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center. Online jail records listed his bond as “to be set.”
