MIAMI — Thirty-one-year-old Tameisha Mobley was counting down to having a baby while prosecutors counted up a hefty tab.
From Doral to Miami Beach, investigators say Mobley, who lives in Miami’s Overtown neighborhood, would walk into a pharmacy, with a tote bag in hand, and beeline right to the beauty aisle.
But what happened next was far from pretty.
Police said she would stuff her bag full of cosmetics and skin care and would then stroll out.
According to her arrest report, she would take thousands of dollars’ worth of cosmetics every single time.
One day back in June, she allegedly stole from two CVS pharmacies on the same day. Detectives said she’s done at least 10 of these shopping sprees and would sometimes bring an accomplice.
But it all came to a halt when a CVS investigator recognized her in one of their stores.
“If you come back, you will have your baby locked up in jail,” Miami-Dade Judge Mindy Glazer said in court on Thursday. “You will not get out. You understand?”
Mobley faces 14 counts of theft, with motherhood around the corner.
