App uses Facebook to predict perfect marriage date

TIME calculates when users could tie the knot, based on their Facebook friends

An app by TIME says it can predict your perfect marriage date after just a few seconds on your Facebook page.

When a user allows the application to access his or her personal page, it calculates how many of that user's friends are already married. Based on that number, it finds the median age of marriage in that person's social circle. It then provides the user with a "perfect" marriage date, in years, months, or days, based on their age and the age of their friends.

According to the application, it only "counts friends who list their date of birth, including the year." It also counts married friends as those whose relationship statuses are "married," "engaged," "in a domestic partnership," or "in a civil union."
