MIAMI - Some South Florida military families are preparing themselves for their loved ones big return.

100 soldiers were on their way to Miami Sunday when their flight was delayed in Texas. Now the families, excited to see their loved ones who have been away for six months, have to wait another day.

The wives of Staff Sgt. Carl Toussaint and Sgt. first class Hector Viacosta have been anxious to see their husbands again.

Both men are part of the U.S. Army's 841st Engineer Battalion, which has been setting up a critical staging area in Afghanistan. That staging area will be used to bring more troops home.

"A little anxious, we were hoping to give the kids a surprise, but now we've told him daddy's coming home soon," said Rosa Aguilar, wife of Hector Viacosta.

Emi Toussaint said she's thankful he's on U.S. soil.

"That makes us breathe a little easier and sleep a little bit better knowing that he's not in Afghanistan.," Toussaint said.
