Hispanic Chamber of Commerce may host 2016 convention in Miami

In Miami, July 8th is U.S. Hispanic Chamber of Commerce Foundation day

MIAMI – This month the United States Hispanic Chamber of Commerce Foundation continued the push to promote entrepreneurship in Miami.

The organization recently held a two-day Chamber Training Institute at the downtown Miami Marriott Biscayne Bay.

Foundation chairman Nina Vaca said CEO of BVKmeka Herman Echevarria and CEO of Mas Tec Jose Mas were representative of the power of the Hispanic community. She added that MasTec's growth into a multibillion dollar company was "a testament of the impact small businesses have on our American economy."

The University of Notre Dame Mendoza School of Business training was done in partnership with Wells Fargo The event, one of six held nationwide, included discussions about branding and media development..

A Florida proclamation declared July 8th, as USHCC Foundation Day in Miami. The chamber also announced the organization was considering hosting its 2016 national convention in Miami.

USHCC President and CEO Javier Palomarez had a positive outlook on the economy that he attributed to the success of small businesses.

"Our country is coming back from the economic downturn stronger than ever," Palomarez said.
