Inaugural poet returns to Miami

Richard Blanco to attend free event at Adrienne Arsht Center

MIAMI – The youngest inaugural poet returns to Miami this week for a free event at the Adrienne Arsht Center.

Richard Blanco, 44, served as the first gay and Hispanic poet at President Barack Obama's inauguration last month.

Blanco will read his inaugural poem, "One Today," and other works during the event. A question and answer session and book signing will follow.

Blanco was born in Spain but moved to the United States with his parents, who are Cuban exiles. He currently lives in Maine and works as an engineer.
