Isaac Vargas was arrested after a brawl during a poker game in Marathon.

MARATHON, Fla. - A Florida Keys man was arrested and his roommate was taken to a hospital after a fight broke out during a poker game early Thursday morning.

Isaac Vargas, 21, faces a charge of aggravated battery.

Monroe County Sheriff's Office spokeswoman Becky Herrin said deputies were called to a disturbance at the Marathon home about 2 a.m.

When deputies arrived, the victim's brother was outside and told them he had been hit in the head with an empty Corona beer bottle. He warned deputies not to go inside alone because there were a lot of people "acting crazy."

Once inside, deputies found the victim covered in blood. They also found broken bottles and blood trails throughout the house.

The victim and other witnesses identified Vargas as the attacker.

The victim was taken to Fishermen's Community Hospital for treatment.
