Local 10 reporters take home Emmy awards

Local 10's Ross Palombo and Trent Aric earn Emmy Awards

HALLANDALE BEACH, Fla. - The 36th Annual Suncoast Emmy Awards were held Saturday night. Local 10 reporter Ross Palombo and local 10's Chief Meteorologist Trent Aric both took home awards.

Local 10's Ross Palombo earned five nods, and Trent Aric earned three nominations.

Palombo won best general assignment reporter as well as best spot news reporter.

Aric won for the weather special, "Hurricane House Call" with Max Mayfield and Steve Zager. He then won a second Emmy for weather on-air talent.

More than a dozen members of the Local 10 team were also nominated for the hard work throughout the year both in front of the camera and behind the scenes. Just a few of the nominating categories include Local 10's special coverage of the Pope's visit to Cuba and Local 10's Hurricane House Calls.
