Detectives investigate a police-involved car crash

LITTLE HAVANA, Fla. – Detectives said a Miami police officer was responding to an emergency when he was involved in a car crash that killed a man on Saturday.

The police cruiser crashed into Ramon Bueno, who was driving a Honda Civic, in Miami's Little Havana, detectives said.

A driver who was waiting at a red light was also hit at Southwest Seventh Street and 12th Avenue, according to detectives.

Miami Fire Rescue personnel took the officer to Mercy Hospital and Bueno to Jackson Memorial Hospital's Ryder Trauma Center. Doctors expect the police officer and the driver of the other car to recover from their injuries.
