MIAMI - Miami Mayor Tomas Regalado said Miami detectives suspect a man found dead under a pile of seaweed Thursday was one more victim of Hurricane Irma.

The man's body was inside a boat the storm surge washed outside the Mutiny Hotel at 2951 Bayshore Dr., in Miami's Coconut Grove neighborhood.

Miami police officers responded to the scene near Regalado's City Hall office on Biscayne Bay.

If the medical examiner's office confirms the detectives' suspicions, the man's death will be the first to be attributed to Irma in Miami-Dade County.

State officials linked 26 deaths in 15 counties to Irma Thursday. The death toll did not include the eight people who died when the air conditioner at their nursing home stopped working when the storm hit Sunday.
