Miami named top 10 compassionate city in U.S.

3 Florida cities named among most caring

MIAMI ā€“ Sure, many believe Miami is filled with road rage, heinous crime and other selfish acts by residents that would make more conservative cities blush.

But let the haters hate because when it comes to generosity, the Magic City contains some of the most giving people in the country.

That's why Miami was named the fifth Most Compassionate City in the entire United States of America. Ā 

The Top 10 rankings were put out by YouCaring.com which based their list on which cities created the most fundraising campaigns to help people in need.

According to the rankings, Miami created 200 campaigns per 100,000 households with medical and memorial issues being those with the most interest in South Florida.

Miami is one of three cities to make the Most Compassionate City rankings. Ā Orlando came in third, while Tampa finished a spot behind Miami in sixth.

Overall, Irving, Tex., a suburb of Dallas, ranked number one with Henderson, Nev. trailing right behind in second.
