CORAL GABLES, Fla. - A robbery outside the Neiman Marcus in Coral Gables Tuesday was caught on tape by surveillance cameras.

Video taken about 3:30 p.m. showed a woman in her 70s fiddling with her phone on a bench outside the store's valet at Merrick Park.

In the video, the victim didn't seem to notice a man in a white baseball cap pacing in front of her. At one point, he glances over and quickly eyeballed her belongings. He doubled back, tried to act casual and tugged at his clothing. The suspect scanned the horizon before making his move. Local 10's Christina Vazquez reported the suspect was seen grabbing the woman's phone and wallet so fast her pearl necklace was tossed up in the air.

The bewildered victim followed behind as the thief left in a rush.

Video showed the man drop a knife on his way to what appeared to be a tan Chevy Impala or newer model. However, the man did not display the knife during the incident and police did not describe it as an armed robbery.

Police said they are looking for the suspect. Anyone with information is urged to contact the Coral Gables Police Department.
